Working Docs:
Narrative:
The session opened with low attendance and an explicit check on whether it made sense to run the meeting as planned. The group explored how to review and prioritize an existing set of budget/polling questions, and whether to run polling live during the call or asynchronously later.
Tevo demonstrated the Coordination Manager tool that can generate Discord polls from prepared questions, with the intent to test whether participants could engage in Discord polling while staying on Zoom. In practice, engagement in the Discord channel was minimal, raising concerns that live polling during the call would not work without tighter integration into Zoom
During the tool demo we reached rate limits so we discontinued using Coordination Manager.
As the group walked through the question sets they noted that some questions already have partial answers in existing documents/sheets, and that some questions are too broad or ambiguous without additional context
We chose a pace where we made sure answering questions benefits us before asking the wider group to respond.
The call ended without going through all the questions.
Discussion Points:
How do we want to conduct the sessions?
Which of these poll questions we should create? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ahDx-6ZslVNrQHc9pKAoV_dgNRLp8QFZa-gFMJk1D7I/edit?usp=sharing
Decision Items:
Do not rush to publish/run the remaining polling questions until wording and polling mechanics are reviewed to avoid wasting respondents’ time.
The budget strategy preferences are questions as informative signals rather than binding inputs for decisions.
Action Items:
[action] Fix Discord polling mechanics in the Coordination Manager (remove double-reaction numeric encoding; support clean single-choice options; increase rate limiting for power users). [assignee] Tevo [status] todo
[action] Answer polling questions in Governance Channel before next Governance WG session [assignee] Core Contributor [status] todo
